Yugal Chittara

building systems across ownership, trust, and coordination.

About

I’ve spent the last decade working across systems where value moves — e-commerce, marketplaces, and now blockchain. I didn’t start as a builder; I moved through sales, growth, and operations first, trying to understand how systems behave before stepping into building them.

Over time, I was drawn to the gaps; where systems fall short, ownership breaks down, or coordination gets messy. That lens pulled me toward infrastructure, and eventually into blockchain around 2015, where those problems felt more fundamental.

I’ve taken a few swings across B2B commerce, ownership infrastructure, and bitcoin-native liquidity systems; some worked, some didn’t. Along the way, I co-authored ERC-7066 and built systems powering 10M+ on-chain transactions.

More than outcomes, they clarified something for me, I’m most interested in problems that sit underneath everything else, where solving them changes how systems work, not just how they look. Lately, I’ve been exploring AI-led workflows, building and iterating faster, and increasingly working end-to-end from idea to distribution.

Still unreasonably curious. Still building.

Thesis

A few working beliefs that keep showing up in the systems I’m drawn to build.

Behavioral truth is the missing layer of coordination.

Most trust decisions are made with incomplete evidence. Systems get better when behavior becomes visible, portable, and usable across contexts.

Ownership that depends on a platform is not ownership.

Ownership matters when it survives product boundaries. That means assets must be programmable, transferable, and durable by default.

Bitcoin liquidity is only useful if Bitcoin stays Bitcoin.

Most BTC finance products leak trust at exactly the layer they claim to respect. The opportunity is building within Bitcoin’s constraints, not around them.

Loyalty systems fail because value cannot move.

Closed reward programs cap their own usefulness. A clearing layer turns isolated incentives into network-level demand and more durable value.

Skills

Systems

trust systems · coordination systems · liquidity systems · distributed systems

Product & Design

product + protocol design · workflow architecture · 0 → 1 product development

Markets & Incentives

incentive design · market design · liquidity mechanics · marketplace dynamics

Operations & Execution

business operations · supply–demand systems · execution at scale · cross-functional coordination

Capital & Commercial

revenue systems · sales & partnerships · financial planning · capital allocation

Blockchain & Infrastructure

bitcoin-native systems · evm ecosystems · cross-chain design · ownership infrastructure

Wins & Failures

win

standards work and scaled infrastructure taught me where small design decisions compound into system behavior.

failure

some ideas had motion but no durable trust layer, which made it obvious where the real bottleneck actually was.

win

the best projects clarified a repeatable pattern: when value can move cleanly, better coordination follows.

failure

systems that look elegant in isolation usually break when incentives meet distribution and messy real-world edges.

Collaborate

I’m especially open to conversations around trust systems, ownership infrastructure, bitcoin-native finance, and AI-led product workflows.
